I was invited to perform the premiere of "Thank You" a piece written by Debbie Wiseman OBE to celebrate the NHS 72nd birthday during the Covid-19 Pandemic. It was commissioned and first aired by Classic FM.
Debbie was asked to write something emotionally direct and uplifitng which I feel she has managed to capture perfectly. The music has a wonderful simplicity and memorable singing melodic line.
Debbie says “A very Happy 72nd Anniversary to the NHS and thank you for everything you do. Happy music-making, everyone – listen out for the ‘thank you’ in the melody line..."
Because of lockdown restrictions I recorded this piece at home and on my piano. I feel this adds another layer to the piece and maybe even an added intimacy to the interpretation. It was a wonderful to play a small role in thanking the NHS for everything they have done.

Recorded on my wonderful Steinway B
It was such as joy to be able to use my Steinway B. I used two AT4050 mics in a Blumlein pair which captures the warmth and nobility of the piano with an amazing clarity. If you decide to have piano lessons at my home you can have them on this piano.
